Writer Lee Seung-young reveals all about the fierce M-A world in 'The Art of Negotiation.

Set to premiere on March 8 (Sat), JTBC's new Saturday drama “The Art of Negotiation” (directed by Ahn Pan-seok, written by Lee Seung-young, B.A. Entertainment, SLL, Drama House Studio) is a drama about a legendary negotiator and his team at a large company.

Based on the theme of M-A, which is said to be the essence of capitalism, director Ahn Pan-seok and actors Lee Jae-hoon (Yoon Joo-no), Kim Dae-myung (Oh Soon-young), Sung Dong-il (Song Jae-sik), Jang Hyun-sung (Ha Tae-soo), Oh Man-seok (Lee Dong-joon), Ahn Hyun-ho (Kwak Min-jung), and Cha Kang-yoon (Choi Jin-soo) have completed a solid lineup and are attracting a lot of attention.

As we wonder what kind of M-A world they will create, writer Lee Seung-young, who wrote the book, shared a behind-the-scenes look at the work on The Art of Negotiation.

“I had a startup in the past, and during the process, I received a lot of help from an old friend who is an M-A expert,” said Lee.

“I was intrigued by M-A at that time and gathered my own information. While preparing the project, I interviewed a lot with my friend who is an M-A expert,” he said, introducing the unique starting point of ‘The Art of Negotiation’.

“I interviewed a lot of people from various fields,” he explains, ”not only those who work in M-A, but also those who work for the companies they are dealing with, in order to portray them as closely as possible to reality.”

“Everyone has their own way of negotiating. I focused on human psychology because I thought that each person's way of negotiating would eventually become his or her life.“ ‘I hope viewers will find themselves in the various human figures in ’The Art of Negotiation' and eventually find themselves, either by looking at people they know or by reflecting on situations they have experienced,” said Lee Seung-young, adding that he hopes viewers will become more curious about 'The Art of Negotiation' as a viewing point.

On the other hand, writer Lee Seung-young expresses her infinite love for director Ahn Pan-seok and the actors who are creating the world of M-A together. Confessing to being a longtime fan of director Ahn Pan-seok, Lee Seung-young said, “I've always wanted to work with him.

When I heard that he was directing 'The Art of Negotiation,' the moment I realized that my longing had actually come true, the emotion I felt was something I had never felt before in my life,” she said.

“As the casting process progressed, I admired the director's discernment. I think the director's insistence on staying as close to reality as possible really shone through in the casting.

When I watch their performances, I feel like I'm an employee of the Sanin Group,” he said, expressing satisfaction and looking forward to meeting the actors in The Art of Negotiation.
